Last blog! English language challenges

Imagen
Hi! This is my last blog and it will be based on my experience learning English through this course. My experience learning English at the university has been quite pleasant, I really only had this course (English IV) because it is the only one I needed to complete the English degree and it has been a very pleasant course because the teacher has been really nice and empathetic with the students, and his activities are pretty interesting to learn different concepts. The use of the blogs has seemed great to me! As I already told, I hadn’t done this (blogging) before since it is my first year doing an English course, but I really liked making posts talking about different topics, and the fact that my colleagues could comment and I could comment theirs and my teacher's have been quite interesting and I’ve learned many things that I didn’t know before thanks to it! I think I will continue to occupy the blog later, but I still have to decide what for hahaha. Around what I think I n...

Changes to my study programme

Imagen
Helloo again! Today my post will be about changes I would make to my study programme of Cine & TV in the University of Chile. To be honest, in these 2 years that I’ve been in the career, I’ve been gathering many ideas of things that I think are quite poorly organized in the curriculum. And in itself, there’s many other problems with the career that I’ve noticed they should be putting on the table to discuss and fix as soon as possible. To begin with, the curriculum is quite poorly done in my opinion. As film students, we hope that in first year they will teach us the necessary bases to be able to put together a short film (because that is what they ask you in each semester of the same first year). Within that, I would include direction of actors, production, direction of art, among others in the program of the first year. And I would also delay a few years the classes of basic training that we share with journalism since, although I find that they are important for our training as ...

TIME TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE

Imagen
Hi! The task of this week is to talk about a time travel to the future, so I will be talking about how I imagine Tokyo, Japan in the year 3000. Why? Because in my mind it looks neopunk as hell. As I was saying... If I could travel to the future, I would like to visit Japan, specifically to see all these futuristic ideal dreams that they've planned and have been putting to the test. For example, I think that around the year 3000, I would be able to see those flying cars (not helicopters, I mean real flying cars!) that they have already been launching (you can look for the news of the successful test they already had of their first flying car!). I also imagine that at this time, artificial intelligence will be already used in a common and daily way, with the use of robots for different domestic and work tasks. I feel that as time goes by, they would end up making houses that are installed in the air, which will be constantly flying above what was once our ground, but which would now ...

My future job

Imagen
Hi everyone! The topic of this post, as u can see in the title, is about my future job. Right now, I’m a filmmaker student in ICEI in the University of Chile. For this reason, my dream work is to be able to be a participant in the creation of films. During my time in this career I have decided that I don’t want to be a director, but I’m very interested in many other aspects of this: I’m really passionate about screenwriting, photography direction, art direction and editing, so I hope I’ll be able to work in one of these areas. Obviously it would be an outdoor job, since you always have to be in different fields to shoot a movie and for that same reason I would love to travel often, especially to other countries if its posible. Regarding salary, I entered this career knowing that it is a profession where it is a bit (perhaps more than a bit) difficult to get a job and above all: to have a good salary, but as long as I can perform professionally and be rewarded by money, even the ...

Free topic: Spaghetti, my Guinea Pig

Imagen
Hi! As this post is about a free topic, I decided to do it about the love of my life: My guinea pig, Spaghetti. Spaghetti its a 3 years old abyssinian guinea pig. I adopted him from a rescue foundation (where his name was Loki, I changed it later haha) in early 2020, and since then he’s been my eternal and best companion during this pandemic. I can assure you that adopting him was the best decision I’ve ever made because he is my greatest happiness! Taking care of him is a lot of work to be honest, but it helps me to maintain a daily routine so I’m happy of that too. His daily routine is strict: I serve him pellet for breakfast at 8 am, change his water several times a day, I have to always make sure that he always has hay to eat, serve him vegetables for lunch (at 1pm) and dinner (at 8pm), and I must always be cleaning his cage because he poops a lot. As an extra information I want to tell you: He’s a bell pepper addict! He eats almost every day and if it were up to him he would e...

A type-of-film I would like to do:

Imagen
For many years now I have found myself more and more fascinated by movies that plays with the minds of the viewers, delving into the psychological aspects to create an element of suspense that keeps the audience hooked on the film.  As an example, I will name my favorite directors, who I believe have achieved this in each of their films: Darren Aronofsky (director of “Black Swan” -one of my favorite movies- and others like “Mother!” and “Requiem for a Dream”), Ari Aster (who has made the movies “Hereditary”, “Midsommar” and the disturbing short film “The Strange Thing About the Johnsons”) and last but not least, Michael Haneke (world renowned for his films that deals with social issues, which my favorites are: “Funny Games”, “Benny’s Video” and “71 Fragments”). Thanks to the works of these directors, my greatest desire is to create films that can represent that disturbing aura that all these films contain, which leave the viewer on the edge of their seat due to the audiovisual tr...

The best concert ever!

Imagen
Luckily, I’ve been to many concerts so far, but hands down I choose the concert of my favorite group as my favorite ever: Seventeen’s concert on August 29, 2017 at the Movistar Arena. To put in context, Seventeen is a South Korean boy band formed in 2015 by Pledis Entertainment. The group consists of 13 members which are: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. The group performs as one group, and the members are divided into three sub-units, each with a different area of specialization (hip-hop unit, vocal unit, and performance unit). They are considered as a "self-producing" idol-group because the members are actively involved in the songwriting, choreographing, and other aspects of their music and performances. I’ve followed this group since their pre-debut and I grew up with them, following every step and effort they have made for success, which could explain why they became my favorite group ever. I love ea...
